PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Limber Jim Creek Aquatic Organism Passage project will replace an existing open bottom corrugated metal pipe with a pre-cast concrete bridge. This project will include excavating the bridge site, placing and installing the bridge, placing surface aggregate, installing bridge rail, and constructing a simulated stream. The instream work window is July 1st through July 31st. Optional items include bridge approach guardrail, placing hot mix asphalt concrete, and constructing a bypass road around the site to accommodate public traffic. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located on the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest on the La Grande Ranger District's Forest System Road (FSR) 5125. To access the project from La Grande, OR travel Interstate 84 west for approximately 8.5 miles to exit 252 for OR HWY-244. Turn southwest on OR HWY-244 for 12 miles and then turn south onto Union County Road 149 for approximately 4 miles. Continue south onto FSR 5100 for approximately 12.5 miles until the intersection with FSR 5125. Turn southeast onto FSR 5125 and travel 2.9 miles to the Limber Jim Creek crossing. Contractors shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, supplies (unless specified elsewhere as Government-furnished), and incidentals required to accomplish specified work in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions of the contract. Work is estimated to begin around May 15, 2022. Engineering point of contact is Richard Mills, telephone: (541) 523-1276. Both performance and payment bonds will be required for this project as well as a bid guarantee. Estimated project value is between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS 237310 with size standard $39.5 mil.
