Renovation of a water / sewer project in Iowa City, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The project would include the replacement of return activaterd sludge pumps (RAS) 7121A, 7122A, 7123A, 5301A and 5401A along with associated equipment. This includes all pumps, valves, sludge and any piping/structural modifications required to fit the pumps. This project is included in the city's fy 2025-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of July 30, 2025, a timeline to select a design firm has not been released. However, design might be conducted by in-house design team. Construction is slated to begin in 2027. Funding allocation initiative has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
