The City of Athens, Ohio is seeking Statements of Qualifications from qualified Design-Build Contractor Teams to design and construct the City of Athens Fiber Optic Backbone Project #347. All proposals will be considered valid until 60 days after the opening date, although not accepted or rejected. The City is soliciting proposals to provide design, permitting, and construction services under the "design-build" project delivery method, with selection as specified in ORC 153.693, to design, fabricate, deliver, and install a city-owned fiber optic underground installation to key City of Athens infrastructure. The design build team will include both construction capabilities and licensed design professionals (architect/engineer, as appropriate) to deliver the complete project. Details about proposal requirements and the full request may be requested from Andrew Stone, P.E., (criteria engineer) at astone@ci.athens.oh.us. The city may conduct interviews with one or more applicants. Design-Build Teams deemed qualified will be invited to submit a proposal within 21 days of receiving a request for said proposal. Three (3) copies of the Statement of Qualifications are to be submitted and marked "Fiber Project Qualification Statement" and sent to the attention of Mr. Andrew Stone at the above address. The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals and to waive informalities as may be in its best interest.
