Acquire a Contractor to complete the installation of a multi-use-path (MUP) and cycling infrastructure and associated works on Hazel Street and Phillip Street. The purpose of this RFT is to acquire a Contractor to complete the installation of a multi-use-path (MUP) and cycling infrastructure and associated works on the following streets which will define the "Project Area": 1. Hazel Street between the Columbia Street and Albert Street. Work includes: - Widening of Hazel St. at the Albert intersection and Columbia St. intersection - New sidewalk on the south side of the street for the widened section of Hazel - Constructing all intersections to meet AODA requirements - Realigning of the driveway at Hazel St. and Wildwood Pl. - Converting the sidewalk to a MUP along the east side of Hazel for a short section at Columbia Street - Painting bike lanes for the entire length of the project area 2. Phillip Street between Columbia Street and University Avenue. Work includes: - Removal of the existing sidewalk along the west side of the street. Construction of a new multi-use path (MUP) in place of the sidewalk along the west side of the street. Installation of a stamped concrete boulevard. Work for each street includes line painting for MUPs and bike lanes and installation of sign posts where necessary. Note that signs do not form part of this contract but are shown for information only. Sign installation will be by city crews. The work is anticipated to commence around June 20, 2022. The Contractor must substantially complete the work by Friday, August 19, 2022 and be fully complete by Friday September 2, 2022. The Working Day Allowance allotted for completion of the project in its entirety is set at Forty (40) working days. Once the Contractor commences the work they must remain on-site until its completion.
