REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE 23rd AVE SW SIDEWALK PROJECT RFP Due: April 11th at 2:00 pm The 23rd Ave SW Sidewalk Project, is part of the City’s Sidewalk Link Program. The services required for this project include designing sidewalks, necessary storm drainage improvements, minor roadway work, utility coordination, property restoration and public outreach. The total project budget, including design and construction, is approximately $870,000. The work to be performed by the DESIGN FIRM is further described in the Preliminary Scope of Work below. PRELIMINARY SCOPE OF WORK Design • Survey and base mapping • Define design criteria and determine the need for any deviations • Design of drainage infrastructure improvements • Identify any utility extensions, relocations or upgrades needed within the project limits • Coordination with existing Washington Trails Association connection program at 5-mile loop • Preliminary submittal of plans and specifications • Preparation of construction cost estimates • Develop final construction contract documents including plans and specifications • Provide assistance through the bidding process including preparation of addenda • Provide assistance in developing geo-referenced record drawings for the project Public Involvement • One open house to present project scope and gather public input • Prepare necessary design information and rendering for public display at the open house • Prepare content for the City’s project web site Right-of-way • Right-of-way acquisition is not anticipated. However, when deemed necessary, the consultant will identify any property needed, current ownership, and estimated acquisition costs. • If necessary, negotiate for any needed property acquisition and record documents.
