Site work for a water / sewer project in Newport News, Virginia. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Repair old, deteriorating storm water drainage corrugated metal pipes (CMP) throughout the project area and provide necessary drainage improvements. Further deterioration of the CMP could lead to sinkholes and depressions along the pipeline causing risk to structures, roads, and public health. The cost includes design efforts to provide the improvements and the cost for construction of those improvements. A new storm system will be installed on a portion of Huxley near Croatan Rd. This project is included in the city's 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 9, 2024, per owner, construction should be by the end of 2024/early 2025 if all easements are acquired and utilities relocated. A design team has been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
