Renovation of an educational facility in Durham, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The general scope of work for this project includes but is not limited to: Provide Steam Boiler trailer to maintain services to building through demo phase 1, complete demo phase 1 and new work phase 1 as denoted on the plans which includes demo of the steam boilers, and other equipment, new work to include installation of new hydronic boilers and associated equipment. Phase 2 demo and new work to commence once Phase 1 work is complete at which time the building can be switched from the boiler trailer back to the newly installed hydronic system. Work to include entire building controls conversion to Eco structure. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft or certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. Within ten (10) days after the formal opening of bids, bid securities in the form of bank drafts and certified checks will be returned to all except the three (3) lowest bidders. Except for the successful bidder, bid securities in the form of bank drafts and certified checks of the three lowest bidders will be returned within three (3) days after the execution of the contract. The successful bidder's bid security will be returned upon delivery of satisfactory one hundred percent (100%) performance and payment bonds. Award announcement Week of 04/11/2022 Deadline for written questions 03/28/2022 at 12:00 p.m Should the successful bidder fail or refuse to execute and deliver the contract and the performance and payment bonds required within ten (10) days after the date of mailing, faxing, or delivery of the Owner's notice of the bid acceptance, the Bidder shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the deposit which the Bidder makes pursuant to the Bid Security section above, or the difference between his bid and the amount of the contract which the Owner actually enters into for the Work, whichever is less. A. The project description in this section is intended to provide an overview of the project scope and specify certain Project Management, Administrative, and Safety requirements. It is intended to supplement other specification sections and the Contract. It is not intended to describe all of the project details or materials and labor necessary to complete the project scope, nor is it intended to describe all of project management or administrative requirements. It also provides an overview of the important anticipated phasing. For a complete scope of work, the Contractor must carefully examine all construction documents including the drawings, specifications, UNH Design & Construction Standards, and supplemental bidding and contract documents provided by the University of New Hampshire (UNH). B. Examination of Existing Conditions: The central steam & hot water plant located in Gregg Hall must remain operational during the construction either via the existing steam system, rental steam boiler, or phased switchover to hot water. Building interruptions including phased utility switchovers must be planned in advance with the Owner. The construction documents are intended to show intent and do not depict all existing components and systems. Therefore, in order to work safely and avoid unintentional interruption of services and/or demolition of components and equipment which is to remain in service, Contractor is responsible for discovering existing conditions prior to beginning construction. C. The Prime Contractor referenced herein shall be the Mechanical Contractor. Construction Schedule: Construction Begins 05/02/2022 Construction Complete 08/31/2022
