CONCEPTUAL REVIEW A. ARB#23-119 City of Williamsburg/Colonial Williamsburg Construction of a two story ~200,000sf Sports and Event Center including gym space, flexible gathering and conference space, specialized activity and training spaces and support appurtenances. As of December 7, 2023, The Historic Triangle Recreational Facilities Authority approved an interim agreement with construction firm MEB to design and build the facility in September 2022. Architectural firms Clark Nexsen, Guernsey Tingle and Timmons Group are part of the design-build team for the project. The authority is a governing body made up of members from the three Historic Triangle localities — Williamsburg, James City County and York County — to oversee the regional indoor sports facility. The facility requires final approval from the City Council, the James City County Board of Supervisors and the York County Board of Supervisors. HTRFA has received and accepted two unsolicited proposals under the provisions of the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2022 (PPEA) for the construction of a Regional Indoor Sports Facility located on property at 100 Visitor's Center Drive in the City of Williamsburg.
