The Public Engagement Plan for the Werk Road Property will be completed in tandem with and in support of the development of the Werk Road Property Master Plan, which will be led by the planning firm MKSK. The Public Engagement Plan will identify and engage stakeholders in the development and evaluation of concept alternatives for the park's master plan. This may include ideas for programming and events, building usage, natural resources projects, development of trails, gardens, or other features and a name for the park itself. Some of the goals of public engagement for this project include, but are not limited to: e Provide information to the public regarding park engagement and planning efforts c Gather information, including historical and cultural background as well as community values, concerns, and needs, from stakeholders regarding the Werk Road Property Engage stakeholders in the development and evaluation of concept alternatives for the park master plan and collaborate successfully with MKSK and other consultants to achieve this goal Lay the foundation for building long-term relationships with community partners, organizations, and members Great Parks of Hamilton County is requesting Letters of Interest submittals from qualified consulting firms or teams to provide professional services to develop and execute a Public Engagement Plan for the Werk Road Property located at 2918 Werk Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Any questions prior to the deadline should be submitted in writing by email to Amy Roell at aroell@greatparks.org by March 22, 2022 at 4 p.m. Great Parks of Hamilton County has been protecting greenspace and providing recreational and educational opportunities to Hamilton County residents for over 90 years. As the largest landowner in the county, Great Parks encompasses more the 17,/00 acres, with 83% of that in its natural state. Great Parks is the third largest park district in the state with 17 parks, four nature preserves, 7/8 miles of trails, and much more. Great Parks acquired the Werk Road property, located in Westwood, in 2021 with Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program funds. As part of the grant application, Great Parks indicated an intention to protect the 22-acre greenspace as well as open up the potential for an urban ecology center to serve residents of Westwood and nearby communities and schools. With a population of more than $0,000 people, Westwood is the largest neighborhood in the City of Cincinnati. Great Parks serves the City, as well as the entirety of Hamilton County, which has a population of more than 830,000 residents. Additionally, people who work and play in Hamilton County also have an interest in what happens with the Werk Road property. Great Parks will need to consider all these groups. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
