Renovation of an educational facility in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The work to be done hereunder includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work to provide new fire alarm control panels and all new devices as indicated on drawings. Patch all holes in existing walls from demolished system to match existing finishes. All new devices include fire alarm horn, strobes and combo devices for notifications and pull stations, heat detectors, smoke detectors, duct smoke detectors and tamper and flow devices for initiation as well as all connections to door hold opens. All existing sprinkler and PIV connections are to be converted to new devices on the new fire alarm system. One year after the completion of construction, after contractor warranty ends, all software and licenses shall be turned over to the Owner for further maintenance and modifications to the system. Fire alarm system and all devices shall be non-proprietary. All work shall be as indicated on the Contract Drawings and as specified herein. All questions prior to bid must be made through Brenda McKinney of ZMM at bmckinney@zmm.com. Contractors may purchase additional sets of drawings from Charleston Blueprint at their own expense. Contractors purchasing additional bidding documents are also responsible for obtaining and purchasing copies of any and all addenda, including any shipping or handling costs. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Jefferson County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Jefferson CountySchools. Contractors shall comply with all applicable national and state codes and regulations listed in the General and Supplemental Conditions. Pursuant to Chapter 21-Article 11 of the "West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act" of 1991, all Contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State, the Contractor's WV License number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts and agreements.
