The purpose of this project is to provide drainage upgrade, culvert replacement, trail repair and trail improvement, widening and re-alignment along approximately 7,400 linear feet of existing road within Coal Creek Open Space Preserve. All attendees who will be participating in the pre-bid activities must RSVP with Luke Mulhall at lmulhall@openspace.org and acknowledge that they have a certified COVID-19 safety protocol in place with the County of Santa Clara, and that they will adhere to that protocol during pre-bid meetings. Alpine Road Trail is an existing dirt road owned by San Mateo County (County) and extends approximately 2.3 miles through Coal Creek Open Space Preserve (Preserve) and adjacent private lands. The County owns a Right-of-Way across the entire Alpine Road Trail alignment. The County closed the road to vehicles at the southern end of Portola Valley in 1979. The District is partnering with the County to reopen Alpine Road as a regional trail connection between Portola Valley and Skyline Blvd/Highway 35 to improve trail experience and reduce erosion potential. The purpose of this project is to provide drainage upgrade, trail repair and trail improvement along approximately 7,400 linear feet of existing road within Coal Creek Open Space Preserve. The scope of work shall include trail improvements, culvert replacement, trail widening and re-alignment on key sites, and major grading for drainage and erosion control, selective demolition and tree removal, as further detailed and described herein as the Contract Document Deadline for Questions: April 6, 2022.
