Site work for an educational facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
The existing Breckinridge Steam Vault is a bunker style e vault that does not meet the minimum safety requirements of Utilities. This project will remove the bunker style top and replace it with a ground level concrete top with a hinged aluminum lid and ladder that conforms to Utilities' specifications. The failed exhaust system will also be replaced during this project. The aforementioned work requires some steam and piping modifications as well. When complete, the steam vault will allow for safe entry conditions for Utilities personnel while also providing a more aesthetically pleasing design.. Final award of Contract will be made on the basis of the lowest, responsive and responsible bid which offers the best value. The time for substantial completion for all phases shall be 36 Calendar Days and Final Completion shall be 14 days thereafter. Substantial Completion will include all site restoration completed, site clean-up and fully functional. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions Anyone wishing to discuss specific items is requested to submit the items in writing to Mike Guyette Construction Procurement, no later than 3pm on 3/29/2022.
