The project is expected to be awarded on 2/28/23.** Contract will be awarded at the Village of Niles Board Meeting on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. STARTING AND COMPLETION If awarded a contract under this Proposal, the undersigned shall start work at the site no later than 10 working days after verbal approval of permit from IDOT, and agrees to fully complete all work covered by this Proposal within 25 working days. The undersigned understands and agrees that the Owner reserves the right to defer issuance of a written order to commence work for a period not to exceed one hundred and eighty (180) days after the date hereinbefore established by the undersigned as a proposed starting date. The undersigned also agrees to furnish a Maintenance Bond in the amount of Ten Thousand (10,000.00) dollars for a period of one (1) year from the date of completion. The contractor agrees to complete the project within 25 working days. If the contractor does not complete the project within the 25 working days, the contractor will be charged $450.00 a day every day until the contractor does return and completes the work. The undersigned also agrees to name the Village of Niles as an additional insured on the general comprehensive liability policy. The Village of Niles must be given written proof of such insurance before the contractor will be allowed to start. The successful Bidder, within fifteen (15) calendar days after acceptance of the Bidder's Proposal by the Village, shall furnish a satisfactory payment and performance bond for the full amount of the Contract when required under the documents. BID DEPOSIT A bid deposit may be required, the amount of which shall be fixed by the Purchasing Manager but which shall not exceed five percent (5%) of the estimated cost of the work or material to be furnished, nor be less than the sum of twenty five dollars ($25.00). Such bid deposit shall be in the form of a bid bond. If a bid deposit is required, it will be indicated accordingly on the front sheet of the bid. The Village may call in the bid bond in the event the Bidder shall neglect or refuse to enter into a contract and bond when required, with approved sureties, to execute the work or furnish the material for the price mentioned in his bid and according to the plans and specifications in case the contract shall be awarded to him. Bids shall be opened at the hour and place as stated in the Notice to Bidders (contained herein).
