Site work and paving for a road / highway in Silver Lake, Wisconsin. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project will restore a section of CTH W, located just South of CTH JI where the Fox River rubs along the base of the road. In 2019 a section of CTH W collapsed into the river causing an emergency closure and repair. A feasibility study was conducted, and it was determined that other sections of the highway embankment will need to be reconstructed to provide erosion protection. The County has applied for funding and awaiting approval that will help fund roughly 70% of this project. If left as is, there is potential for sections of CTH W to fall into the river. The project is included in the Kenosha County - Purchasing's FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 11, 2024, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. Design funds were budgeted for 2023 and construction in 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
