Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Fremont, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 11,342-square-foot, three-story above grade elderly care / assisted living facility.
The Project is located at 40086 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA and is described as follows: The work includes demolish existing tar and gravel flat roofs down to the substrate. Install new fall protection system with lifeline before installing the new roofing system. The new roof system consists of two ply modified bitumen with specified insulation to comply with title 24. Install walking pads where they are applicable for servicing mechanical equipment on the roof. And all necessary work in the drawings and specifications provided. The planned timeframe for commencement and completion of construction of the Project is: Forty-five (45) calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed to Final Completion. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): C-39 Contractor. Contractors bidding as a joint venture must secure a joint venture license prior to award of the Contract for the Project. City may not accept a Bid Proposal from, or enter into the Contract with, a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to perform public work under Labor Code Section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that, upon award of the bid, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, the insurance certificates, and the other documentation required by the Contract Documents, within ten days after City's issuance of the Notice of Award The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price. . PROJECT SCOPE INCLUDES DESIGN/BUILD FALL-PROTECTION SYSTEM, PER "BASIS OF DESIGN" SHOWN, INCLUDING THE FOLOWING: .. INSTALLATION OF HORIZONTAL LIFEL-LINE SYSTEM AND TIE-OFF POINTS AS REQUIRED FOR COMPLIANCE WITH CAL-OSHA FALL-PROTECTION RULES AND REGULATIONS .. STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS AND CONNECTIONS TO ACCOMMODATE DESIGN LOADS FROM NEW FALL-PROTECTION SYSTEM .. REPAIRS TO FINISHES AND SYSTEMS DISTURBED BY INSTALLATION OF NEW FALL-PROTECTION SYSTEM . PROJECT SCOPE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE EXISTING TAR AND GRAVEL B.U.R. ROOFING SYSTEM (APPROXIMATELY 4800 SQ FT), INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING: .. REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF EXISTING ROOF SYSTEM ON ALL FLAT ROOF AREAS, INCLUDING ALL EDGE METAL, FLASHING, AND ASSOCIATED MATERIALS TO THE STRUCTURAL DECK .. INSPECT DESK AND PERFORM REPAIRS AS NECESSARY .. REPLACE EXISTING ROOFING WITH NEW MODIFIED BITUMINOUS MEMBRANE ROOFING SYSTEM, INCLUDING NEW FLASHING, TRIM, WALK PADS, AND GUTTER FOR A COMPLETE SYSTEM .. REPLACE ALL EXISTING ROOF PIPE/CONDUIT SUPPORTS WITH DURA-BLOCK OR ACCEPTED EQUAL .. PROVIDE ALLOWANCE FOR DRY ROT REPAIR, 25% OF THE TOTAL FLAT ROOF SQUARE FOOTAGE. The required construction includes, but not limited to the following: 1. Demolition work required in order for new scope of work to take place; 2. Roofing work; 3. Metal work; 4. Building finishes; 5. Plumbing Work; 6. Electrical Work;
