Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The work for bridges, D-14-010 (48H & 48J), shall consist of removing the existing bridge superstructures, widening the existing abutments, and replacing with new superstructures complete with new decks and barriers. The new superstructures shall accommodate two lanes of traffic in their respective directions. Over the next five years. MassDOT expects to invest over $3 billion repairing the Commonwealth’s Bridges. This includes $816 million already programmed in the STIP using BIL’s reauthorization of existing programs, $1.1 billion under BIL’s new Bridge Formula Program, and $1.25 billion in bonding authority under the Commonwealth’s Next Generation Bridge Program.
