The repair and replacement of asphalt and concrete pavement and concrete cut-off walls where damage occurred on several streets due to flooding. Work includes removal of temporary pavement, placing of new AC pavement structure and construction of concrete cut-off walls at locations called for on the plans. The streets identified for repair are all within the Town of Gila Bend and were damaged during an August 2021 flood event that impacted a significant portion of the town. The major work components include the following construction items: 1. Removal and Replace Asphalt Concrete Pavement 2. Repair Cracks in Replace Concrete Pavement 3. Construct Concrete Cut-off Walls The deadline for questions from bidders shall be 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022. A final addendum, if needed, will be issued on Monday, April 11, 2022. Bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany each proposal. Bonding companies issuing acceptable bonds in conjunction with this project must hold a certification of authority to transact surety business in Arizona as issued by the Director of the Department of Insurance. All bid security shall be made payable, without condition, to the Town of Gila Bend. Said bid security shall be considered liquidated damages and shall be forfeited to the Town of Gila Bend in the event the proposal is accepted, and the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish the required bonds within ten (10) working days after the notice of bid award. CONTRACT & NOTICE TO PROCEED MONDAY 05/09/2022 COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION MONDAY 07/18/2022 The Town of Gila Bend reserves the right to accept the lowest, responsible bid; to consider alternatives; to reject any or all bids; and to waive irregularities or information in any bid. Bids received after the specified time of closing will be returned unopened. The Town of Gila Bend also reserves the right to hold any or all bids for a period of ninety (90) days after the date of opening. Bidders will not be allowed to withdraw submitted bids during the ninety (90) day period.
