The Medford School District 549c (District) is seeking written proposals from qualified providers to Upgrade the Planetarium System and Optical Mechanical System Extraction. The upgrade shall include the careful extraction of the current A3P optical mechanical star projector and the planetarium director's console. The upgrade shall include a single projector, delivering at least 2,400 x 2,400 resolution to the center of the dome. The new console for the digital upgrade shall include integration of the current Dolby Surround Sound System and recently upgraded ChromoCove LED Lighting. The Planetarium upgrade would need to be completed by the second week of September 2022. Detailed scope is available in our RFP. This is a qualified bid process so while overall costs (that are flexible) are a major factor, consultants who can provide the most experience and scope of services requested will receive higher marks. The District invites interested consultants to complete and submit a proposal. The district reserves the right to (1) reject any Proposal not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, (2) to add to the price bid by nonresident bidders an increase equal to the percent preference that the nonresident bidders home state would give it's instate bidders, (3) to reject, for good cause, any or all Bids that are not in the best interest of the district, (4) to reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, to waive any formalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of Medford School District to be in its best interest.
