Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Arlington, Washington. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

This is a Public Works Project subject to the rate of prevailing wages as established by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries - Bidders are notified that all work performed on this project will be subject to the higher of either the Federal Davis-Bacon or the State of Washington prevailing wage rates. This project requires compliance with the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and adherence to the current U.S. Department of Labor Wage Decision if it is higher than the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries wage rates. The Contractor must comply with the minimum rates for wages for laborers and mechanics as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. The Wage Decision, including modification, must be posted by the Contractor on the job site. The Snohomish County Fire District #21 is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. This project is (funded/partially funded) through the Washington State Community Development Block Grant program with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Small, Minority- and Women-owned firms are encouraged to submit bids. MAJOR ITEMS OF WORK The Owner wishes to contract for Construction Services for the New Station 50. Project includes plumbing, mechanical, electrical and site work, for the construction of a New Fire Station no. 50. Work includes, but is not limited to the following: New wood framed, two story building of approximately 9,980 SF that will house Snohomish County Fire District #21 emergency responder personnel with (4) back-in bays, crew living and sleeping areas as well as other fire service-related support spaces. Building also includes a meeting space with associated public lobby and restrooms. Total site is approximately 209,106 SF (4.8 Acres) which involves partial clearing and grading to accommodate for the New Structure and Site Improvements. Sitework will include, but is not limited to, clearing and grading, site structures, storm water systems, on site septic system, utilities, electrical, paving, fencing, and offsite work (where applicable). Snohomish County Fire District #21 hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex or natural origin in consideration for an award. The award of the contract will be to the qualified bidder submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any immaterial irregularities in the bidding. The District shall make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the District and shall be the sole judge thereof. BID SECURITY: Bid security, in the amount of 5% of the bid sum shall accompany each bid. Security shall be made payable to Snohomish County Fire District #21 either by cashiers check or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in Washington State. It is recommended that Bidders Register in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the "Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project.
