Project Overview: Stantec is currently contracted with NYSDOT to prepare a Draft Design Report (DDR), a Final Design Report (FDR), for Phases I-IV, Advance Detail Plans (ADP's) and the Plans Specifications and Estimate for Phases V and VI, for the replacement of six deficient bridges, and a deficient large culvert along NY 3 and NY 12E in Jefferson County. These structures are located along the Seaway Trail Scenic Byway and tourism corridor along the Lake Ontario shore. Scope of Requested Services: Provide soil borings and rock cores, and supporting services, at four (4) of the seven (7) project locations sites (Sites, 1, 2, 4, and 5). Location maps available upon request Site 1: NY3 over Little Stony Creek (T/Ellisburg); Nearest Milepost 3 7302 1097 Site 2: NY12E over Trib to Chaumont Bay (T/Lyme); Nearest Milepost 12E 7301 2137 Site 4: NY12E over Perch River (T/Brownville); Nearest Milepost 12E 7301 2069 Site 5: NY12E over Shaver Creek (T/Lyme); Nearest Milepost 12E 7301 2159. Project Conditions and Requirements: Soil Borings shall be taken in accordance with Chapter 4 of the NYSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual A total of 16 borings are required (4 per site). Based on record plans, the following overburden drilling depths are assumed: Site 1: 15 ft (4 borings) Site 2: 50 ft (4 borings) Site 4: 20 ft (4 borings) Site 5: 15 ft (4 borings) Continuous SPT sampling shall be provided in the top 20 ft, with standard 5 ft sample intervals below that A total of 16 NX rock cores shall be taken (4 per site). 8 rock cores will be 10 ft deep and 8 will be 5 ft deep with 85% minimum recovery. Contractor shall apply for/obtain a Highway Work Permit(s) from NYSDOT Contractor shall provide Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with NYSDOT Standard Specifications (Section 619) of and Standard Sheets (619 Series), as required, to perform drilling operations. Contractor shall locate boring locations in the field with a sub-one-meter GPS unit or approved equal and supply that data to Stantec Boring will be performed from the roadway surface in the vicinity of the new bridge abutments. A final location plan will be provided at a later date. No laboratory testing is required New York State Prevailing Wage Rates apply A Stantec representative will be required on-site during drilling operations. Contractor shall coordinate field work with the representative.
