The Texas Southern University ("TSU") is soliciting a statement of qualifications from Developer(s) with an established history of providing high quality and cost effective methods to plan, finance, design, and construct Living Learning Communities for students in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The project primarily consists of a residential facility that is expected to provide students the opportunity to experience community living and build social relationships that will enhance their campus life and academic experiences on TSU campus. To accommodate the rising number of freshmen and continuing student housing needs, and to achieve its on-campus housing goals, the University is seeking a qualified Developer(s) to develop 2000 apartment-style beds to be completed by June 2023, surface parking, dining, and mixed use facility (Project). The University defines "apartment-style" beds as double occupancy with private bedroom and bathrooms interior units with private restrooms and living room space (no kitchens). The University already has a stock of dormitory style and apartment-style beds and is looking to supplement these offerings. The Project is expected to become an integral part of the University's housing program and will be promoted alongside residence halls and apartments owned and managed by the University, in published materials, and on the University's Housing and Residence Life website to eligible prospective and enrolled students and their parents. This housing complex will also support the University's strategic initiatives to grow and diversify its on-campus housing stock.
