Project Information Sealed bids will be accepted from qualified contractors by Durand Area Schools for the Durrand Area Schools Asbestos Abatement project. Bid Security A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid amount is required and shall accompany the bid. Bid security may be in the form of a bid bond issued by a qualified surety authorized to do business in the State of Michigan, a cashier's check, or money order payable to Durand Area Schools. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the bid date. Durand Area Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bid. Should the Abatement Contractor fail to complete the work by those dates, it is agreed that the sum of $1,000.00 will be deducted from the contract amount for each and every calendar day the work is incomplete for each phase of the work. A. This section covers the removal and disposal of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) from the project site, as defined by these Specifications. B. The Abatement Contractor shall coordinate with all other jobsite trades for the proper removal of ACM’s. C. The Abatement Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, services, permits and insurance required to complete asbestos abatement procedures as indicated in these Specifications and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
