The Utah Transit Authority (UTA), in coordination with the State of Utah, the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC), and the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), is preparing to create or update Station Area Plans (SAPs) throughout the entire UTA system by 2026. A total of 51 Station Area Plans covering 95 individual transit stations and station corridors will need to be completed. UTA's TOD group expects to directly manage the 38 of those Station Area Plans in communities across the Wasatch Front. Some of these SAPs will require a comprehensive planning effort intended to guide transit design and connectivity, land use modifications, real estate development, and municipal implementation. For stations that have an existing SAP or where planning efforts have begun already, targeted analysis and recommendation of specialized needs will be required. Due to the considerable amount of work that must be completed by 2026, UTA will be qualifying multiple Consultants into that demonstrate an ability to complete work in one or more of seven critical areas related to transit stations. Selected pool Consultants will have the opportunity to receive specific task orders for work within the respective pools for which they were selected.
