Sealed proposals will be received at the offices of: Libertyville Township, 359 Merrill Court, Libertyville, IL 60048 (847-816-6800), until 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 3, 2019. All bids will be publicly opened at that time and read aloud at the offices of the Libertyville Township Road District, 343 Merrill Court, Libertyville, IL 60048. The bid must be held open for 45 days from the date of bid opening. Subcontracting portions of the work will be allowed pursuant to Section 108.01 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", Illinois Department of Transportation, latest edition. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bidder or subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Owner or the Engineer, does not have adequate experience, personnel or equipment to perform the work in a timely, efficient, and satisfactory manner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof and waive any informality or any irregularities or defects in any or all proposals and to accept that bid which in its opinion is in the best interest of the Owner. Any such decision shall be considered final. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The work is located on West Timber Lane and Tanya Trail in the Timber Lane Estates subdivision, Oak Spring Lane in the Oak Spring Woods Subdivision, and North Longwood Road and West Oak Avenue in the Forest Haven subdivision in unincorporated Libertyville Township, IL. The work for which proposals are invited will consist of, in general, but shall not be limited to, the following: culvert removal and replacement, pavement patching, landscape restoration, and all other incidental work necessary to complete the project. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid made payable to the Libertyville Township Road District shall accompany the bid. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as is considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the Contract. The Contractor shall be completed on or before May 20, 2022, as described in Article 108.05 of the Standard Specifications. In case of failure to complete the work on time, the provisions of Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications.
