Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a 178,024-square-foot, six-story above grade educational facility.

*As of July 27, 2022, construction is underway. Bids shall be on a bid form supplied by PFD, clearly identified as a bid, and signed by the bidder. All trade contractor bids for this project are subject to all applicable sections and provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 149A and M.G.L. Chapter 149, including prevailing wages, bonds and insurance, and all submissions shall be in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents entitled: Josiah Quincy Upper School Project. Estimated Cost for Advertised Scope of Work: The trade services advertised herein for are procured as part of the Josiah Quincy Upper School project. The estimated cost of these specific trade and non-trade services is $146,800,000. DCAMM: Trade Contractor Bids will be valid only when accompanied by: (1) a Certificate of Eligibility issued by DCAMM1 showing the trade contractor has been approved to bid on projects the nature of that described in the IFB; and (2) an Update Statement summarizing the trade contractor's record for the period between the latest DCAMM certification and the date the trade contractor submits its bid. The scope of work is presented in further detail in the specifications and plans, and includes Elevators associated with the construction of a new 650 student middle upper School located at 900 Washington Street. The trade contractor services for the Josiah Quincy Upper School are being bid and performed in one (1) phase with work commencing on or before June 1, 2022 and completed on or before June 4, 2024. PRE-QUALIFIED TRADE CONTRACTORS are referred to the City of Boston contract documents for all information contained or referenced therein, for the detailed scope and requirements for each Trade. It is the responsibility of each Bidder, before submitting a Bid to: (a) examine the Bidding Documents thoroughly; (b) visit the site to become familiar with general, local and prevailing conditions;(c) familiarize and understand applicable laws covering the Work; (d) study and carefully correlate the Bidder's observations with the Bidding Documents; and (e) request written interpretations or clarifications, as provided in Section 002000 Instructions to Prequalified Trade Contractors Article 4, promptly after discovering any conflicts, ambiguities, errors, or omissions in the Bidding Documents. Substantive questions are to be submitted in writing and emailed to bid.info@boston.gov on or before April 1, 2022 by 12:00 PM. Pursuant to M.G.L. c.149A, section 8(l)(11) requires bidders to post a 5% bid bond from a surety company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth and whose name appears on U.S. Treasury Department Circular 570. Bid bonds will be returned to bidders not selected as trade contractors. Bid bonds are to be made payable to The City of Boston. A performance bond and labor and materials payment bond, satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, of a surety company licensed to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth and included on the U.S. Treasury current list of approved sureties (See Circular 570), in the sum of 100% of the contract price will be required of each successful bidder. BJRP and MBE/WBE: The attention of all bidders is directed to the current Boston Residents Jobs Policy section of the specifications in connection with employment practices in the performance of this project. The CM at Risk Contractor and all of its trade contractors shall comply. In addition, the Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) participation goal for this Contract is a combined goad of 10.4%. The combined goal requires a reasonable representation of both MBE and WBE firm participation on the project. PREVAILING WAGES: Bidders are hereby notified that this project is subject to M.G.L. c.149, section 27 and in accordance trade contractors must pay prevailing wages as set by the Division of Occupational Safety within the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards. APPRENTICES: The attention of all bidders is also directed to the Instructions to Prequalified Trade Contractors and to Section 00 73 74 of the Specifications entitled "An Ordinance Regulating Employers on Public Construction Contracts." The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive informalities in, or to reject any and all bids as required by applicable law and, or if such is in the public interest to do so. Project consists of constructing a new 178,024 SF, 6-story high school and site work. Abatement and demolition of existing buildings and sitework. The scope of work is presented in further detail in the specifications and plans, and includes Masonry, Miscellaneous & Ornamental Iron, Building Waterproofing, Damproofing and Caulking, Roofing & Flashing, Glass & Glazing, Tile, Acoustical Tile, Resilient Floors, Painting, Fire Protection & Sprinkler system, Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning & Electrical associated with the construction of a new 650 student middle upper School located at 900 Washington Street.
