Pursuant to RFQ #2022-02-4 WAHA Early Works Staff Housing, the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is inviting Short-Listed Proponents to participate in this second-stage Request for Proposals (RFP) No. WAHA 22001 for Healthcare Redevelopment Project - Early Works Staff Housing. The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA), in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and the Federal Indigenous Services Canada, is undertaking a bold new redevelopment project to replace the aging hospital on Moose Factory Island with a new facility in Moosonee consisting of a new 36 bed hospital, a 36 bed Long Term Elder Care facility, a 70 room Hostel, a renovated and expanded Mental Health Outpatient Clinic, and Staff housing consisting of two 44 unit apartment buildings and 15 duplex 4 bedroom homes. In addition, a new primary care Health Center will be built on Moose Factory Island replacing the existing hospital. In order to provide temporary housing for the main project construction personnel, the 15 duplex modular home units will be built in advance of the main project as an "early works" component. The scope of work for this enabling project includes the following: Grubbing and grading of the housing site Construction of new roadways Expansion of existing water and sanitary services to the 30 new homes Installation of new electrical and street lighting services Concrete foundations and crawl space construction for 15 duplexes Purchase delivery and installation of modular homes from pre-qualified vendors Connection of all services to homes Purchase, delivery and installation of certain furniture and appliances (cash allowance) Purchase and installation of covered front porches and rear decks Through this process, WAHA is seeking to identify and select a qualified firm (the "Contractor") with which to enter into an agreement ("Resulting Contract") to provide our 30 new modular homes.
