THE UNIT PRICE FOR RAISING BASINS OR REPLACING, REPAIRING EXISTING BASINS SHALL INCLUDE: 1. Saw cut around basin twenty four (24) inches minimum in a neat and uniform manner. 2. Replacing with a new top if damaged or raising of existing basin to prescribed height and re-mortaring. 3. Repairing block work as required. Town of Newtown inspector shall approve depth after top is removed. 4. Replace existing catch basin. Town of Newtown inspector shall inspect existing basin and approve replacement. 5. Backfill repaired or replaced basins with processed gravel compacted in six (6) inch lifts. 6. Repair existing storm drainage pipes as required. 7. Replace asphalt once basin top is raised. Depth to be determined by Town. 8. Landscape all disturbed areas. The Town of Newtown, Connecticut, Public Works Department (Newtown PWD) is soliciting sealed bids Raising Basin Tops- FY 22-23 The Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject y or all Bids, or waive any technicality in any Bid or part thereof, if deemed to be in the best of Newtown. The Purchasing Authority of the Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, bids, or proposals; to waive any technicality in any bid, or part thereof, and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown, Connecticut. Bid Security when required must be by a certified check, letter of credit or surety bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the Town of Newtown. Performance Bond when required must be by a certified check, letter of credit or performance bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid.
