Balch Street Community Center Boiler 1. Cut, cap, and make safe all hot water heating piping, gas piping and make up water piping. 2. Disconnect and make safe all power to boiler and hot water pump #1 3. Cut, and cap flue for boiler 4. Demolish, remove, and dispose of all equipment and materials off site 5. Replace Boiler #1, as per specifications below. Include new make-up water and all necessary boiler trim up to and including shut off valves for a complete project 6. An equal substitute boiler will be considered upon submission, review, and approval of specifications 7. Replace heating hot water pump #1 and associated trim up to and including shut off valves. Include a VFD with the pump package. 8. Replace flue, gas heating hot water, and make up water piping, piping insulation, electrical power, and controls as needed 9. Replace combustion air damper and tie into new boiler control 10. Include stand-alone boiler controls with outdoor lockout/reset 11. Complete a pressure test of system upon completion 12. Complete a flush of the new boiler as needed 13. Complete a system start up, test and balance as needed for proper operation 14. Work with AES Building Services to maintain the existing boiler system online as needed 15. This project to be completed no later than October 31st, 2022 Boiler Specifications: o Cast Iron sectional heating hot water boiler o Natural Gas fuel application o Boiler efficiencies compliant with Federal and ASHRAE 90.1 requirements o Gas input MBH; 1470 o Gross output MBH; 1,190 o 80% efficiency o Boiler HP; 35 o High Limit control o 30 psi relief o Low Water Cut Off o Temperature / pressure gauge o Operating controls o One-year warranty, parts, and labor upon start-up date o Current equipment in place is a Peerless Hydronic Hot Water Boiler Questions Due Date: Apr 7th 2022, 12:00 PM EDT Pursuant to Section 34.09 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Akron, Ohio, the Purchasing Agent has determined that a bid or performance bond will be required. The Successful bidders only will be required to provide, and maintain for the agreement a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the amount of the contract. All bonds are at the bidder's expense. Should the award of these services be split amongst bidders so that a supplier's award be estimated at the less than $50,000, the requirement of a performance bond or that supplier may be waived by the city. The City of Akron, through its duly authorized constituted officials, reserves the right to reject any, part of any, or all bids, to waive informality in any bid, to award the purchase in the best interest of the City and its Citizens, to hold all bids for 90 days before acceptance, and/or re-bid.
