Renovation of a fire / police facility in Vernon Hills, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

COUNTRYSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT PROJECT: DEERPATH DRIVE FIREHOUSE RE-ROOF project consists of re-roofing the entire Countryside Fire Protection District (District) facility roof at 600 N. Deerpath Drive in Vernon Hills, IL 60061. The vast majority of the existing granule surface modified bitumen roof shall remain in place, although small areas of moisture contaminated roofing materials (identified by infrared scan) will be replaced with like and kind dry roofing materials before re-roofing over the existing roof surface continues. Once all of the moisture contaminated roofing materials are replaced, the entire surface of the existing roof shall be properly prepared according to roofing manufacturer requirements and then covered with foam-adhesiveadhered 1/2" thick high-density polyisocyanurate cover board insulation. Roof drain areas shall be fitted with tapered insulation sumps and tapered insulation saddles and crickets shall be installed between drains, at corners of roof areas, and on the high side of large mechanical unit curbs to direct surface water into drainage outlets. The cover board shall be covered with a foam-adhesiveadhered, 115 mil, white, fleece-back TPO, roofing system according to project specification and roofing manufacturer requirements, complete with fully adhered TPO membrane penetration flashings, TPO membrane wall flashings, and perimeter edge sheet metal. The existing lightning arrest system shall be temporarily removed and subsequently reinstalled to full certified operational condition over the new roof surface. An Alternate bid shall be accepted to re-roof directly over the existing granule surface modified bitumen roof. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the District reserves the right to defer, postpone, delay, or reschedule the Bid Opening for such time and to such date as the District, in its sole discretion, determines is in the best interest of the District. NON-COLLUSION: Any agreement or collusion among bidders or prospective bidders in restraint of freedom of competition by agreement to bid a fixed price, or otherwise, shall render the bids of such bidder void. Each bidder shall accompany his bid with a sworn statement, or otherwise swear or affirm, that he has not been a party to any such agreement or collusion. RIGHTS RESERVED: The District reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or award each schedule individually, to waive any informalities or technicalities in bidding, and to accept the Bid which best serves the interests of the District. The District shall, in its sole discretion, determine what does or does not constitute an informality or technicality, and, in submitting a Bid, the Bidder agrees to be bound by that determination. WAGE RATES AND INSURANCE: The successful Bidder will be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract. Contractors and their subcontractors must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports showing compliance with the States current Prevailing Wage Ordinance.
