The State College Area School District plans to replace existing dry sprinkler fire suppression system at Gray's Woods Elementary School. The following is a brief outline of the scope of work: Demolish existing dry system piping and sprinkler heads in attic and unconditioned spaces. Install new dry sprinkler system piping and sprinkler heads. Maintain system in operational condition throughout construction. Limited Fire Alarm system and power modifications. Project/Site: Gray's Woods Elementary School 160 Brackenbourne Drive Port Matilda, PA 16870 All Requests for Information shall be addressed directly to Robert Miller rmiller@hl-architects.com. A Bid Guaranty in the form of a Certified Check or a Surety Company's Bid Bond shall be submitted with the Proposal in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total Bid amount. In the event that any Bidders shall, upon the award of a contract, fail to comply with the terms of the proposal and/or Contract Documents, the amount of the Bid Guaranty shall be forfeited to the Owner. For any contract exceeding $5,000.00, wording about this requirement must be provided: The contractor shall provide a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, before the award of the contract. (Sections 756 and757 of the Public School Code of 1949. as amended, and the Public Works Contractors Bond Law of 1967.) Bidder must agree to begin work contemplated by this contract within five (5) days after the date specified in the Notice to Proceed as the starting date and to compete the work by August 5, 2022. Bidder must agree to pay to the owner as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, the sum of Seven hundred and fifty Hundred Dollars ($750) per calendar day; the Contractor and its surety shall be liable for the amount thereof. In addition, all work after that date will need to be performed after 3:00 pm or on weekends at no additional cost to the School District. Bid RFIs are due on April 7, 2022 at 12:00 pm.
