The Municipality of Central Manitoulin is requesting tenders (Bids) to supply all labour, material, and equipment for the repairs on the existing Providence Bay Beach Boardwalk, as per the scope of work outlined in the drawing package supplied in Appendix A - PROVIDENCE BAY BOARDWALK REPAIRS PROJECT No. 21-1385. The location of the project is 24 Mutchmor Street, Providence Bay in Central Manitoulin on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The board walk extends from 24 Mutchmor street approximately 800 meters South East. The Boardwalk is located in an ecologically sensitive area. Therefore, heavy machinery including skid steers, mini excavators and all terrain vehicles are not permitted on the vegetated area on either side of the Boardwalk. All work is to be executed from the Boardwalk surface. The Proponent shall refer to the drawing package included in Appendix B for full scope of work which includes: Sand removal from boardwalk subject to environmental restrictions, top rail replacement on sections of the boardwalk, guard replacement on sections of the boardwalk, deck board replacement on sections of the boardwalk, shim replacement, and some new guard installation. The Proponent shall submit a proposed start date, end date and work plan as part of the tender submission. As part of the workplan the Proponent shall outline their approach to the scope of work including a plan to ensure that access to the boardwalk is minimally impacted during the work window. It is the preference of the Owner that no work occur during peak season (June, July, August). Work shall be completed no later than December 1st, 2022.
