Construction of additional buildings École de Technologie Supérieure complex on the site of the former Dow brewery. The scope of the project includes the demolition of the buildings existing on the site next to the intersection of Peel and Notre-Dame Streets excluding certain elements which have a heritage character (one or two facades, a masonry fireplace and an existing technical tunnel under Peel Street) and construction of an education pavilion housing teaching rooms, administrative spaces, research and teaching laboratories, a library, auditoriums, community, support and maintenance spaces. The project will be accomplished in several phases and include several buildings. The project is included in the Quebec Treasury list of projects with a value exceeding $50 million. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary and is included under the number 248 in the list of major projects of the Quebec Treasury Board Secretariat with a status "under study". A real estate analysis of the existing facilities has been completed and is under review at the owner who is finalizing the scope of work. The awarded an additional professional consulting firm CIMA + has completed façade stability and building structural condition assessments reports and is working on a Feasibility study preparation. Scope of work and timelines of the project implementation are being finalized. Further update in mid- to late 2026. Note. The owner has issued requests for proposal from architectural and engineering professional consulting firms ETS-SP25-078 /20121414 and ETS-SP25-079/20125959 for the demolition of the buildings on the site of the former Dow complex.
