Responses to all questions, and any project addendums, will be posted on the city website on April 13, 2022.
The City of Scotts Valley is requesting proposals for a three-year (with a maximum of five years) contract from qualified contractors to perform landscape maintenance in various locations throughout the City. Submitted proposals will become part of the official files of the City of Scotts Valley and will not be returned. Late proposals will not be accepted. The City of Scotts Valley is a residential community located south of Silicon Valley. The City is approximately 4.6 square miles in size with a population of approximately 12,000. The City maintains four major parks and multiple trail systems. With some of the largest and most used parks in the County of Santa Cruz, it is important for the parks to be well maintained and groomed. The Linear Trail is a trail located behind the Skypark neighborhood in Scotts Valley, CA. The trail is a paved walkway with decomposed granite on either side. There is a fence line running the length of the trail and it boasts several benches and workout equipment. This trail is home to many native trees, plant species, and wildlife. The Linear Trail will be the primary focus of this RFP, along with other minor areas within the City. The Landscape Maintenance Contract falls under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department and the quality and level of service provided by the contractor will be supervised by the Public Works Director or his designee. The selected contractor shall provide to the City the necessary insurances, endorsements, and a performance bond in the amount of one year of the contract, as specified in the enclosed Draft Agreement
The City of Scotts Valley reserves the right to withdraw this RFP at any time without prior notice. Furthermore, the City makes no representations that any Agreement will be awarded to any contractor responding to the RFP. The City expressly reserves the right to postpone the opening of the proposals for its own convenience and to reject any and/or all proposals responding to this RFP.
The contract is being awarded for a three-year term with the opportunity for extension for an additional two years. Upon award, the contract will run from 06/01/2022 through 05/30/2025. Upon the expiration of the initial three-year term, the City will evaluate the Contractors service and will determine if an offer for extension is warranted.
