The Town intends to plant approximately 230 trees throughout the 2022 year. The nature of the work includes the furnishing of all labour, tools, equipment, supplies, material and services necessary for the complete performance of the work which includes but is not limited to: - procurement and storage of approximately 230 caliper sized bare root trees. Species count as per the attached schedule. Any alterations of the provided list is subject to approval by the Town. - installation of caliper sized trees, on Town of Grimsby road allowances including boulevards, medians and frontage roads as well as Town of Grimsby designated Parks and open spaces; - supply and installation of t-posts or wood posts with wire support for each tree; - providing adequate care and storage of all trees prior to planting with manufacturer or distributor's label intact; handled and stored in accordance with manufacturer's requirements; - loading, hauling and off-loading all trees to planting areas designated by the Town; - All materials provided by the Contractor to be used in the work are to be new without defects. Failure of adherence or failure to comply with specifications requirements shall cause rejection of materials or replacement of same, at contractor's expense. - all equipment should be road worthy and suitable for working on Town streets and parks; - all installations to ensure no damage to existing infrastructure and Town and private residential properties; and - the Contractor to ensure that all persons engaged in the provision of the Services are clearly identified as a representative of the Contractor while performing Services on Town premises. All employees will wear high visibility vests and an identification badge while doing the work.
