As of May 26, 2022 award for Rubber Dams Replacement solicitation# RFB-IS-22200683 was made to Zusser Company. The purchase order total is $658,250.00. The start date has not been determined. This project is to remove and dispose of the existing Citrus Spreading Grounds Rubber Dam (Citrus RD), Forbes Spreading Grounds Rubber Dam (Forbes RD), Walnut Spreading Basin Rubber Dam (Walnut RD), and install new rubber dam bodies utilizing the existing clamps, flanges, inflation/deflation mechanisms and concrete foundations located within the channel. Citrus RD is located off of S. Citrus Ave. between E. Gladstone St. and Arrow Hwy., Covina, in Big Dalton Wash. Forbes RD is located off of E. Allen Ave., between 210 Hwy. and W. Gladstone St., Glendora, in San Dimas Wash. Walnut RD is located off of S. Grand Ave. between E. Rowland St. and 10 Hwy., West Covina, in Walnut Creek. PW owns numerous rubber dam facilities throughout Los Angeles County. Many are reaching the end of their practical life expectancy and are in need of replacement with in-kind rubber dam body type material. Citrus RD, Forbes RD, and Walnut RD have been selected for removal and replacement. The original "as-builts" for Citrus RD and Forbes RD are detailed within Attachments 2 and 3, respectively, and are to be considered by the bidding Contractors for reference only. A bid bond is not required. However, for bids that are over $50,000, a performance bond is to be submitted by the Contractor. The bonds shall be submitted upon PW approval of the rubber dam sample provided by the Contractor. PW reserves the right to reject any piece of material, installation, or parts that fail to meet PW requirements.
