This public improvement project is located in the Town of Long Beach, Indiana and consists generally of construction of a new gravity flow sanitary sewer and three wastewater lift stations and force mains on Lake Shore Drive and Moore Road. The Project also includes capacity improvements to two existing Michigan City Sanitary District lift stations. This Project will allow for the collection and transporting of wastewater generated from the residents along Lake Shore Drive in the Town of Long Beach, Indiana to the Michigan City Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment. The Work for this Project includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and services for the construction of the Project as it is defined in the Contract Documents. The Bidding Documents, including the Bidders Checklist, Official Notice to Bidders, Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Form of Bid Bond, Agreement, Form of Performance Bond, Form of Payment Bond, Gene ral Conditions, Supplementa ry Conditions, Specifications, Drawings, and Addenda, if any, may be examined at the following locations: Administrative Offices Consulting Engineer Office Michigan City Sanitary District Haas & Associates, LLC 1100 E 8th St 526 Franklin Street Michigan City, IN 46360 Michigan City, IN 46360 Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check on a solvent bank or trust company, drawn to the order of the Michigan City Sanitary District, or an acceptable Bid Bond, in an amount of not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total of the Base Bid plus the bids for all Alternates for the Project. This sum is a guarantee that, if the Bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. The Bid security of all Bidders, excepting the three lowest, responsive, responsible Bidders will be returned within thirty (30) days after the opening of bids. Any Bidder whose Bid security has been retained may, after thirty (30) days from the opening of Bids, request return of his Bid security provided he has not been notified of acceptance of his Bid. The Bid security of the successful Bidder will not be returned until Bidder delivers the required signed contract and Performance Bond. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled time for the opening of Bids or authorized postponement thereof. However, no Bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the scheduled time for opening, unless agreed to by the OWNER. The award of the contract will be made by the OWNER. In determining the lowest, responsive, responsible Bid, the OWNER will consider the Base Bid and any desired Alternate Bids in any desirable combination, and all other relevant facts or matters stated in the Contract Documents or which the Michigan City Sanitary District Board may legally consider in determining the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder. The Sanitary District Board reserves the right, after all Bids have been examined and tabulated, to waive any informalities and insubstantial defects in any Bid; to accept the Bid which it deems to be the lowest, responsive, and responsible Bid and to reject any and all of the Bids received. All Bid awards are made subject to an appropriate contract being finalized between the OWNER and the winning Bidder.
