Solicitation Summary The City of Havre de Grace, herein referred to as the "City," is soliciting competitive sealed responses from qualified construction firms in good standing, which have five (5) years or more experience in providing construction services as outlined below. The City requires the services of a design-build construction firm for the renovation and addition to the existing building, herein referred to as the "Visitor Center," located at 450 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Additional Instructions The City intends to enter into a service contract for the proposed project term. Compensation for the services rendered will be based upon a fixed-price contract that may allow change orders for changes to the scope of the work. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. The City requires the services of a design-build construction firm for the renovation and addition to the existing building, herein referred to as the "Visitor Center," located at 450 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. For the new Visitor Center, the existing building will be renovated and will receive a new roof system; dormers; a partial wrap-around covered porch; a complete interior redesign, to include interior walls (offices) and ceiling removal as well as new windows, electric service, lighting and cable. A public restroom facility will be added to the rear of the building and new finishes on the exterior brick and redesign of the landscaping and retaining walls will also be included. This project will take a "design-build" approach. The contractor does not have to be an architect; however, the contractor must be able to provide conceptual designs to the City for review, editing and approval. Once approved, sealed architectural drawings will be required to obtain the necessary permits.
