Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Turlock, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Project Number -KLA 20-2266, 2020,056 The project will build a small building adjacent to the Classroom II Building where the Psychology faculty and administrative offices will be located allowing for collaboration and oversight of the center as well as quick access to the students in the program. The facility will include infant, toddler and preschool rooms along with adjacent observation rooms. The facility will include approximately 14,308 gross square feet (GSF), 9,300 ASF for 21.45 upper division lab FTES. The CSU requires that the Project achieve a building energy use efficiency that is at a minimum 10% better than the current Title 24 energy efficiency on a performance basis. Each individual assembly (envelope, lighting, HVAC, etc.) should meet Title 24 prescriptively. All new buildings must meet or exceed the minimum requirements equivalent to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver, as defined in CSU Sustainability Policy. The Owner reserves the right to pursue external certification through the LEED process. The Contractor is not required to certify the project for LEED Silver status, but is expected to make sustainable choices, regardless of rating systems. Additionally, the Project shall comply with the mandatory measures as adopted by Building Standards Commission in the current edition of CCR Title 23, Part 11 California Green Building Standards Code (CalGreen), and the Buy Clean California Act. At minimum, Contractor shall submit Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all materials or products subject to the Buy Clean California Act (AB 32). Construction budget estimate is $15,243,000. The Trustees require the successful bidder to achieve three percent (3%) DVBE participation in contracting construction projects as established in the bidding documents, and bidders shall identify the DVBEs to be used to satisfy this requirement in their bids. The University is granting a DVBE bid incentive of 1% as described in the Contract General Conditions. Bidders shall contact David Sawyer at (209)667-3323. This project is a public works project and is subject to prevailing wage rate laws (Contract General Conditions, Article 4.02). All contractors and all tiers of subcontractors who will work on this project shall register to bid and work on public works projects with the Dept. of Industrial Relations, and maintain current this registration pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 It will be the responsibility of each bidder to obtain a bid response form package in sufficient time to fulfill requirements therein. The bid response form package is obtainable only by contractors, licensed in the State of California with an A or B license, and registered with the DIR to bid public works projects.
