The County is seeking Submissions from Contractors interested in becoming pre-qualified to bid on the Township Road 232 Upgrade. This project will be administered under a single general contract and is a standalone project at this time. Sedulous Engineering Inc. (Sedulous) has been engaged to complete the grading design for the roadway upgrades and that work is well underway. Preliminary drawings are provided for information purposes only. Specifics of the detailed design may result in changes to estimated quantities prior to finalizing drawings for tender. Township Road 232 is a 2-lane gravel road that provides access to agricultural lands southwest of Langdon in the County. This 3.2 km section is planned for upgrades to allow for future paving and regional transportation connectivity. The scope for this project is to sub-cut, widen, and regrade the existing road from Range Road 274 at the west end to Hwy 797 at the east end within a new 30.1 m right of way. There are six cross-grade CSP culverts that will be required to be installed under Township Road 232, to allow the adjacent wetlands to drain from the north to the south. The remaining work within the 3.2 km project will consist of constructing 3m wide flat-bottom ditches, smoothing out the existing road surface profile, re-establishing driveways and field entrances, and tying into the existing road elevations at each end of the project.
