The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed bids for furnishing labor, material and equipment required to complete the project in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and of the materials and to the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown and delineated upon the plans and specifications made therefore. The following information is presented to indicate the size of the project and no warrant is made or intended to final quantities.The work shall be completed and ready for full use within sixty (60) calendar days, the first day of which shall be the date specified in the City Engineer's "Notice to Proceed". The project includes furnishing, and installation of dry well systems along Milverton Road, construction of a rolled curb, and percolation testing at the drywell locations. The installation of the dry well systems will entail saw cutting of the roadway, installation of pretreatment chambers, trenching, backfilling, and resurfacing along Milverton Road, and the installation of piping between dry well components. Bids shall be valid for sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening date. Access to City Hall is currently restricted. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the City in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price.The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the City with a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the successful Bid, prior to execution of the Contract. Additionally, sealed bids may be delivered via USPS, FEDEX, UPS, or other carrier to the Engineering Services Department at City Hall prior to the bid due date. Please clearly label the package with the project title and add "ATTN: Andrea Trese."
The City reserves the right to cancel the project, and to reject any or all bids if not satisfied as to the price for the work or the responsibility of the bidder. The City also reserves the right to waive any informalities according to law.
