Parkway School District is seeking bids, from qualified distributors, to supply the district athletic soil mix and compost, to be ordered on an as needed basis, throughout the term of the contract, under a blanket purchase order agreement. Questions Due Date: Apr 15th 2022, 3:00 PM CDT The District estimates that during the term of this agreement it will spend approximately $15,000 for a twelve (12) month period. This is not a guarantee but is listed for vendor guidance in estimating a discount. The District does not guarantee any quantities that it will purchase as a result of this invitation for bid. The initial term of the contract will be for twelve (12) months. Vendors have the opportunity to offer the district multi-year proposals in item number two of the vendor signature section Parkway School District reserves the right to order similar and/or related items under the same terms ATHLETIC SOIL MIX Soil must be a mature A-horizon from one of the following families: Prairie Soil, Brown Forest Soil or Brown Soils. The soil should have a pH between 6.5 and 7.5; no green manure; macro porosity of 32.7% to 16.0%; micro porosity of 25.6% to 34.2%, and the physical properties of an organic loam soil; Clay (0.002 millimeter or less) 7 to 27% Silt (.05 to 0.002 millimeter) 28 to 50% Sand (.05 to 2.0 millimeter) less than 60% Organic matter greater than 20% Organic matter must pass through a 2-millimeter sieve COMPOST Compost material is to be manufactured from high quality nutrient rich products and shall be screened to 1/4 of an inch in size. The compost is to be weed-free and from a stabilized matter source. A current lab analysis of the compost product being bid shall be included in vendors bid submittal. Compost product must be available for delivery within a 24 to 48 hour time period. Any bidder with questions must submit such in writing via the bidding platform, Bonfire. Every attempt shall be made to ensure that the bidder receives a prompt response if such questions are received in a timely manner.
