It consists of replacement of existing pumps, valves, and piping, replacement of existing ventilation fans and ducting in the dry well, replacement of valve vaults, installation of new variable frequency drives, construction dry flood proofing measures, and replacement of existing motor control center and control system. The Project site is located at the Braemar Lift Station situated on the corner of Cliff Drive and Alan Drive, Santa Barbara, California. The Project is intended to replace aging equipment, and address long standing issues with odor control and operational and maintenance challenges. The limits of work are restricted to north of the existing sidewalk, south of the dry well and electrical room, and directly east of the existing station. The limits of works are restricted to developed, disturbed, and ornamental areas measuring roughly 640 square feet within the limits of the existing Braemar Lift Station. Construction is scheduled to begin August 2022 and complete October 2023. The work generally includes replacement of the existing pumps and motors with new units including Variable Frequency Drives (VFD). Other work items include the ventilation system, wet well, motor control center, supervisory control and data acquisition system, the removal of two site walls and exterior piping, replacing pumping and electrical systems, rehabilitation of the wet-well interior, and replacement of outiet piping and valves adjacent to the building. There will be demolition of the existing ornamental planter area to provide for relocation of the emergency pump bypass connections, including construction of a new catch basin and drain piping, which is proposed to be graded and revegetated after construction. Revegetation will follow the policies designated in the City of Santa Barbara's Coastal Land Use Program / Coastal Land Use Plan (2019), including Policy 4-1.19 (Plantings within ESHA Buffer) and Policy 4.1-36 (Bird Breeding and Nesting). PROJECT NO. 48367, BID NO. 5439 The City anticipates work to begin on or about March, 2023. The construction completion is 670 calendar days.
