Renovation of a mixed-use development in Kearney, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; municipal facility; and museum.

Roof Replacement All bidders shall verify that they have considered all written addenda. Neither the City nor the City's Engineer shall be responsible for oral instructions. Any written addenda issued during the time of bidding shall be covered and included in the bid. There will be no clarifications or exceptions allowed on bids. Bids are for a total package, total contract price. Bids shall be made upon the form provided, in ink or typewritten. Numbers shall be stated both in writing and in figures; the signature shall be long hand; and the complete form shall be without alteration or erasure. On alternate items for which a bid is not submitted, a written indication of "no bid" on the bid is required. No oral, telegraphic, facsimile or telephonic bids or alterations will be considered. The following items must be included in the sealed envelope with the bid: a. Bid b. 5% Bid Security-Bid Bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check (See Below) c. E-Verity Affidavit and supporting information Each bidder shall file with his bid, a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on any acceptable bank, made payable to the City of Kearney, Missouri, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, which shall be retained by the City of Kearney until a Contract for the project has been executed. Bid bonds will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders, with the exception of the second qualifying bidder, at such time as their bids are rejected. The bid deposit of the successful bidder and the second qualifying bidder will be returned when satisfactory bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount, required insurance certificates and other required documents have been furnished and the Contract Documents have been executed. Provisions: The following provisions are required of the successful contractor and are further described in the bid packet: l Bid Security/Bid Bond totaling 5% of bid; l City Occupation License (application fee will be waived); l Insurance naming City of Kearney as additional insured including products and completed operations as provided by ISO form CG 2010 (11-85) or equivalent; l Prevailing Wage per Clay County Wage Order No. 28, pursuant to RSMo 290.250; (not required for work $75,000 or less) l Performance Bond for no less than 100% of the cost of project construction for projects in excess of $50,000; l Payment Bond for projects in excess of $50,000, pursuant to RSMo 107.170; l Enrollment in Federal Work Authorization (E-Verify) Program Bidders are informed that pursuant to Section 285.530, RSMo, as a condition of the award of any contract in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), the successful bidder shall, by sworn affidavit and provision of documentation, affirm its enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection to the contracted services. Successful bidders shall also sign an affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien in connection to the contracted services. l Safety Training Bidders are informed that the Project is subject to the requirements of Section 292.675, RSMo, which requires all contractors or subcontractors doing work on the Project to provide, and require its on-site employees to complete, a ten (10) hour course in construction safety and health approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations which is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. The training must be completed within sixty (60) days of the date work on the Project commences. On-site employees found on the worksite without documentation of the required training shall have twenty (20) days to produce such documentation. l Proof of Lawful Presence, pursuant to RSMo 208.009; l American Products provision, pursuant to RSMo 34.353, if applicable; l Transient Employer provision for employers not domiciled in Missouri, pursuant to RSMo 285.230 In the event the successful bidder is unable to execute the Contract, for whatever reason, the City may exercise its legal prerogatives, including, but not limited to, enforcement of its rights as to the bid security.
