Site work, paving and renovation of a civil project in Joliet, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
LAWRENCE AVENUE LIFT STATION REHA- BILITATION The City of Joliet, Illinois, does hereby invite sealed bids for LAWRENCE AVENUE LIFT STATION REHA- BILITATION. The proposed construction consists of demolition of the existing wet well, valve vault, controls, generator and generator pad. New pre-cast polymer concrete wet well with two (2) submersible pumps, valve vault, meter vault, controls and natural gas fueled emergency power generator will be installed to replace the existing equipment. Work shall also include site piping with connections to existing gravity sewers and the forcemain. Proposed site improvements include grading and fill, asphalt repair, bollard installation and restoration of the site, as well as other miscellaneous items of work. It is highly recommended that all bids be tabbed to mark the Bidding Schedule and Bid Bond. All bidders will be required to submit Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or a Bid Bond in the amount of Ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid, payable to the City of Joliet. The City of Joliet has a local qualified bidder ordinance that would apply to this contract. Prequalification pursuant to Ordinance No. 7345 is necessary. Financial Prequalification and Local Bidder Qualification are two different things. The potential vendor/contractor remains responsible for obtaining all addenda to the original specification so they should check the specific bid page before submitting a bid to make sure they have received all addendums to a specific contract. The successful bidder will be required to post performance Security and to provide a Certificate of Insurance as set forth in the Invitation of Bid and the General Terms & Conditions. The work to be performed under this contract is on a project assisted under a program providing direct Federal financial assistance from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701 u. Section 3 required that to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for training and employment be given to lower income residents of the project area and contracts for work in connection with the project be awarded to business concerns which are located in, or owned in substantial part by persons residing in the area of the project. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246. MBE/WBE: Women and Minority Owned Businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. All bidders are required to show verification of being in good standing with the System for Award Management on SAM.gov All bidders are required to submit all of the required documentation as called for within the proposal form for their bid to be considered as complete.
