The proposed one (1) year agreement with optional annual renewal for an additional two years will be between Bidder and Dolton School District 149. The contract will cover Lawn and Grounds Maintenance and Snow Removal Services at seven School District properties. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, or a certified check payable to the order of the Owner, certified by a responsible bank for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount. A 100% Performance Bond and a Labor/Material Bond will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. No bid will be considered unless the bidder shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the Owner that he has the necessary facilities, abilities, experience, equipment, financial and physical resources available to fulfill the conditions of the Contract and execute the work, should the Contract be awarded to him. To the extent required by law, the Bidders shall comply with the provisions of the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, 30 ILCS 570/0.01, et seq.; the Drug Free Workplace Act, 3-ILCS 580/1 et seq.; the Human Rights Act, 775 ILCS 5/1-101, et seq.; the Veterans Preference Act 330 ILCS 55/0.01 et seq.; and certify that the bidder is not barred from contracting with a state or local government as a result of violation of 720 ILCS 5/33-E-3 and 33E-4 as amended or a conviction of bribing or attempting to bribe an officer or employee of the State of Illinois; but nothing herein shall require the application of those Acts unless required by State law. The Board of Education, Dolton School District 149 reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any or all irregularities or technicalities in the bid, and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interests of the District.
