EXTENSIONS PROJECT. The Work consists in general of approximately 2,540 lf of 8 inch PVC waterline, 2,145 lf of 6 inch PVC waterline valves, hydrants, fittings, service connections, connections to existing water lines, restoration and all appurtenant items of construction. Bids must be upon the forms furnished by the County of Armstrong and must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the form attached to the Contract Documents, in the amount of 10% of the Bid, made payable to the County of Armstrong. All envelopes containing Bid proposal shall be sealed and clearly marked "McVILLE ROAD - SCHEDULE A AND CURREN ROAD - SCHEDULE B, WATERLINE EXTENSIONS PROJECT" and the name of the Bidder shall be shown on the envelope. Two copies of the bid documents shall be submitted in sealed envelope with bid. A satisfactory bid bond, or certified check or cashier's check, in favor of the County of Armstrong, is one executed by the Bidder and an acceptable EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY surety (appearing on the Treasury Department's most current Circular 570 list and authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the total of the Bid. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statures of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds on the forms provided, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price and executed by an acceptable surety company The Armstrong County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids, for any reason whatsoever. AWARD CRITERIA AND BASIS FOR REJECTION will be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders of the contract and technical documents.
