Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Maria, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Santa Maria Joint Union High School District ("District") will receive sealed bids for the following project, Bid No./Project No. 22-407 Summer 2022 ReFlooring at PVHS & ERHS ("Project" or "Contract"): Contractor shall perform the Work at the following two (2) locations ("Sites"): Pioneer Valley High School (PVHS) 675 Panther Drive, Santa Maria, CA Ernest Righetti High School (ERHS) 941 E. Foster Road, Santa Maria, CA At both locations, the District intends to have a licensed flooring contractor remove existing floor covering, perform minor floor preparation, and install owner-supplied floor covering (either carpet or vinyl depending on location) including entry mats. Carpet adhesive will be District-provided. Carpet will be direct-glued. Contractor will need to provide new rubber wall base, trim finishes (e.g., stair nosings, treads, visual safety strips, etc.) and trim finish adhesives for all work areas. No grinding or leveling appears to be necessary at this time; furniture will be moved by the District. At PVHS, the upstairs of Building 400 needs to be recarpeted. That includes 10 standard size classrooms and 2 teacher workrooms. Additionally, the East stairwell in Building 300 needs vinyl flooring replaced with stair nosings, treads and other trim finishes. In both areas, rubber wall base replacement is required. Photos and plans are included in the bid package. At ERHS, 5 portable classrooms require recarpeting (Rooms 600, 604, 606, 607 & 616); each is approximately 960 square feet. A site map and photos are included in the bid package. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California contractors' license(s): C-15. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract A bid bond by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form and Proposal, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the Contract for the Work. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. The District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on: The base bid amount only. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening.
