This Request for Proposal has been prepared by Washington County to secure the services of a material testing consultant firm to provide material testing services on an as-needed basis via an annual contract. It is anticipated that contract(s) will be executed for a one (1) year period with an option to renew for up to four (4) additional one (1) year periods. Rates for services may be reviewed and adjusted on an annual basis by making a written request to the Washington County contract representative within 30 days of the renewal date By entering into such a contract, the Consultant and the County can expedite project delivery by eliminating the need for project-specific solicitations, proposal reviews, and contract approval processes when needs arise. It should be understood that the contract amount would be set such that it will be sufficient to cover the anticipated annual services, although the actual payment amount to the consultant will reflect only actual work performed at the contract hourly rate(s), with no guarantee of the full contract amount nor any minimum amount being used. Contracts will be set to an annual maximum not to exceed $250,000. The following list outlines work tasks and associated items that may be included as part of the contract services: - Prepare preliminary and final grading and base reports - Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) Testing - Moisture Content Tests - Soil Compaction - Nuclear and Sand Cone - Test Roll Observations - Gradations - Proctor Tests - Topsoil Tests - Infiltration Tests - Concrete Strength Testing - cylinders and beams, air content, slump, and break - Bituminous Cores- thickness and density - Bituminous Properties- quality assurance testing - Staff for consultation, pre-activity meetings, etc. - Trip service to pick up samples when requested - Final Report If you are interested in submitting a proposal for this service you must email Gerritt Bangma, indicating your interest and your contact person by April 15, 2022.
