NAME AND LOCATION OF STRUCTURE: Wallace Pond Dam is located on the southern end of Wallace Pond in Wallingford, CT, approximately 150 feet northeast of the intersection of Quinnipiac Street and River Road. DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE AND WORK PERFORMED: Wallace Pond Dam is a run of the river concrete dam, approximately 140 feet long with a height of approximately 4 feet. The dam has a tributary watershed area of approximately 110 square miles + and the water surface area of its impoundment is approximately 8 acres. This certifies that the work and construction included in the plans submitted for the structure described above, has been completed to the satisfaction of this department and that this structure is hereby approved tn accordance with Section 22a-405 of the Connecticut General Statutes. The owner is required by law to record this certificate in the land records of the town or towns in which the structure is located. Please submit a certified copy of the recorded certificate of approval to the Inland Water Resources Division, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, 79 Elm Street, Hartford, CT 06106. The owner is also reminded of Section 26-138 and 26-139 of the General Statutes pertaining to the requirement that the Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection be | notified at least forty-eight hours prior to the intentional draining of any impoundment. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
