Sealed bids will be accepted by Los Angeles County Public Works, Project Management Division III, for the Safe Route to Schools infrastructure improvements, including roadway, sidewalk, and traffic signalization, signing and striping improvements, and the performance of other appurtenant work under Project ID No. RDC0016226, Los Nietos Safe Routes to School, Phase I, in the unincorporated communities of Los Nietos and West Whittier The work is estimated to cost between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000 and shall be completed in 80 working days. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Prebid questions regarding the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted via email only to: Ms. Agnes Nguyen at agnguyen@pw.lacounty.gov . Prebid questions will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022. Each bid must be accompanied by a surety bond payable to County of Los Angeles in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the bid to guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract if it is so awarded. All persons performing the work shall be paid not less than the General Prevailing Wage Determination prepared by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to the State Labor Code. Copies of these wage rates are available at Public Works. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal for this contract is 22 percent. Goals for Minority in Participation in Each Trade Each Trade 28.3% Goals for Female Participation 6.9% The contract, if awarded, will be awarded to a responsible contractor with the lowest responsive bid; however, the Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Due to the requirements of the use of Federal funds on this project, no Local Small Business Enterprise preference will be applied to this project as defined in County Code 2.204.
